About this WA ATAR calculator
This tool estimates your WA ATAR. It uses TISC's scaling model. WACE works in a clear way. Each subject mixes your school mark and your exam mark. TISC then scales the result against the state. The calculator adds your best four scaled scores. It also adds bonus points for Maths and a language. That total is your TEA. We turn it into an ATAR. For the full method, see our methodology page.
WA rewards harder subjects with a bonus. You get 10% of your scaled score for Maths Methods. You get it again for Maths Specialist. You also get it for your best language. So these subjects can lift your TEA. But you must do well in them first. A low mark earns only a small bonus.
Only ATAR courses count towards your ATAR. General and Foundation courses do not. They still help you finish your WACE. So check that your subjects are ATAR courses. Got your estimate? The section above shows WA universities. Each course lists its 2025 cutoff. Bonus points and adjustment schemes can lift you further.
TISC sets your real ATAR. It arrives in late December or early January. This estimate gets you close. It cannot be exact yet. Scaling depends on this year's students. That data does not exist until results day. Use this to plan and aim.
