About this Tasmania ATAR calculator
This tool estimates your Tasmanian ATAR. TCE works in a clear way. Each Level 3 or 4 course gives you a scaled score out of 15. UTAS adds your best five scaled scores. That total is your Tertiary Entrance Score, out of 75. We turn it into an ATAR. For the full method, see our methodology page.
Only Level 3 and 4 courses count towards your ATAR. Level 1 and 2 courses still help you finish the TCE. Tasmania also lets you count two years of study. Three of your five must be from your final year. You can only use two years in total.
Some subjects scale up. Others scale down. This depends on who else takes them, not how hard they feel. Got your estimate? The section above shows University of Tasmania courses. UTAS is the only university in the state. Many of its courses have lower cutoffs. You can also use your ATAR to apply interstate.
UTAS sets your real ATAR. It arrives in late December or early January. This estimate gets you close. It cannot be exact yet. Scaling depends on this year's students. That data does not exist until results day. Use this to plan and aim.
